Conviction is all you need !

There are times we fail, there are times we emerge victorious, but there aren't many who introspect as to why we fail or why win. For obvious reasons, in this fast moving and ever changing world, which it has come to be, we fail on the thinking part, and if we do think about the aforementioned, we miss out on one big think- CONVICTION. From Lord Rama to Lord Krishna, from Swami Vivekananda to the current missile man of India, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, all have reverberated the same thing and yet it fails to register on us. I say us here just to include my small fraternity to friends, peers, colleagues and family members, and all who can connect to this.

I always got to hear that a listener is a great man, that all it takes to be knowledgeable is to be a good listener, a good absorbent, to accept knowledge, no matter where and when and how it comes by.

Sharing here, a beautiful story, contributed by a friend, at a normal eat away, in the wee hours where everything else was ordinary, but the words he spoke resonate even now as I hit the characters of the keyboard to present it. Paramahansa Yogananada (hereafter, referred to as He), an Indian yogi and guru who introduced many westerners to the teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga through his book, Autobiography of a Yogi. A devout of the Almighty, from the very blossoming times of his, this Indian championed the cause and showed the world the path and reason of one's life. But lets not go into that, because I am afraid, I can't make full justice to his ideals given to the world. Therefore, I stick to the one which probably none thought, and yet it is so ripe that it should at least find a mention even through this effort of mine.

He was always treading a path to reach the Superhuman and of course he did. His desire was too deep to go unnoticed, when one fine day his elder brother, seemingly bored and much unto frustrated by his philosophies, extended him help to chase his dream of visiting Mathura - the land of Krishna. Upon condition that he should return back before the stipulated time offered and upon his own earning, without begging, mocking at him that His God may help him earn a return ticket. The offer was instantly agreed upon by the Swami and his close friend. Tickets were bought for both.

Before leaving, the friend, a pragmatic by nature, suggested that they should be given some money towards undesired circumstances, which may be used if anything untoward was to happen. Not a bad idea, in an uncertain world, was it?

To this the Swami replied, "Then it can't be done. The deal will never meet its end. If there is even a fraction doubt towards an endeavor, it can't be achieved. If there is any doubt in the conviction, its a sure failure."

What we aim at, what we aspire, can only be achieved if there is conviction to achieve it. David belted Goliath, small troops won big wars, the underdogs emerge winners every now and then. There is one thing in common - CONVICTION.

So next time, in whatever we do, however small, insignificant or huge, lets do it with full conviction and see it meet the end.

Till Death, Not Distance Do Us Part

There was a spark in each eye, like innocent babies, when they come....
Just as they stepped in a new life, shredding and putting behind, the old one.
Aspirations lay high in mind, excitement reflected on their face,
Only positive energy was there, no pessimism- no disgrace.
Eyes met, then wavered, like for strangers, is always fated,
As we were getting closer to a bonding which none knew, none anticipated.

Time started flying by, giving air to our new sprung wings,
Three Eagles flew high, soaring above all, where they met a few more- in the same pocket, with the same wings... The aerie was formed.

They did things- togetherness personified- seemed they'd always be together, even if they died.

Interests and aspirations varied though- the common goal was to rule the untamed- which the world'd salute- which brought glory and fame.

Studied, played, did wonders, broke the law- got stung by its saw- never they broke.

The fusion was such that everything else seemed immaterial.
The fission now is such that all looks inevitable.
Misunderstandings have creeped in the minds of those which weren't clear...
When I ponder, dig the grave, I feel it was always there.

The aerie has parted- some to the north, some to south, some to west some to east..
Time really has acted like a beast.

The aerie had to- as now we sail a higher sky- a sky of success- to the right- to redress.
Irony of success remains as always it was- you can't be where you want, neither where you wanted to be.

We'll enter new skies, to touch the rainbows, to fly high.

Yes we move on for the next start - but-
TILL DEATH, NOT DISTANCE DO US PART.

Lonely, as I walk

Walking solitarily, in the dark deep woods;
Where the nature is so swinging and so are the moods.
Green leaves on the trees;
Dead barks on the ground,
Sun’s rays playing hide and seek,
In dead silence or mustering sounds.
Thoughts come and disappear,
Like a naughty mane;
Sometimes as happiness,
Sometimes as fear and bane.
Some, wherein stay,
And stay there for long.
Cutting through my happiness,
Cutting through my song.
Nibbling me to a mere nothing
Like a parasitic crea;
To which, I can do nothing
But fall as a prey.
Those thoughts, those ambitions
They flutter through the grey-
To remind me of what I thought
And what I’m today
And what I’m today.
Those dreams to be the green have cheated me long back,
Only dead leaves I see now,
To remind me of my ever so losing track.
I lost, in each sphere
I lost momentously, here and there.
I lost my speech when I tried to talk;
I lost my humor when I tried to mock.
These thoughts inevitably pound me down,
When lonely, through the dark deep woods, I walk.

My Beautiful Girl

Innocence, if any I've seen, I've seen in her face,
Wilderness in her eyes reminded me of God's grace.

A glimpse of thy face gave me such a solace,
O, I prithee thy beauty, give me some of thy heart's space.

Girl or magic, could never decipher,
When she unfurled her hair... men around used to wonder and perspire.,
Look through my eyes and you'd see what a beauty I admire.

But never saw her or never was she there??
I fear I'd never get her or is it my feeling of despair??
Flesh and bones must be what she must be made of,
Come like a wind or streams of water, come my dear and give my love. a pay off.

I saw her, I really did see,
In streaks of red, orange, blue and green as a tree.
Top to toe she was like a mystic pearl,
O she is and she'll always be the one whose name I enchant even in my dreams...
O she'll always be MY BEAUTIFUL GIRL.

:-( Ye jo teri yaadein aati hain...

Ye jo teri yaadein aati hain
Ye jo teri yaadein aati hain.....

Jab bhi soti thi tum,
toh andhera sa ho jaata tha,
Tera jagne se haye sawera sa ho jaata tha.

Darta tha kahin dooba jo tere pyaar ka suraj,
toh kho jaunga.
Teri yaad mein khud se tanha ho jaunga,
Maut ki shaiyya par armanon ka gala ghot haye
Main so jaunga.

Ab teri baatein yaad aati hain,
Teri garm saansein yaad aati hain;
Tere salone muskaan ki daastan mujhe sunati hai,
Zamane ke aage toh dil khol k hansta hun sanam,
Par tanhai mein haye mujhe bada rulati hain.

Ye jo teri yaadein aati hain
Ye jo teri yaadein aati hain.....

Our greatest glory is not in never failing but in rising everytime we fall!!!

" If you think you 'll lose, you are lost.
For out in the world we find...
Success begins with a fellow's will;
Its all in a state of mind"

" Life's battle doesn't go to the stronger or the faster man,
but sooner or later the man who wins is the one who thinks..
HE CAN!!!

Robert Bruce ( Don't know why his name pops every time I fail and it happens so frequently you know ;-)) The man is too well known for reconquering his kingdom inspired by the gritty struggle of a meek spider who tried, tried, tried and failed but tried again and successfully managed to build its web.

Rescuing Hug

This is a picture from an article called “The Rescuing Hug”. The article details the first week of life of a set of twins. Apparently, each were in their respective incubators, and one was not expected to live. A hospital nurse fought against the hospital rules and placed the babies in one incubator. When they were placed together, the healthier of the two threw an arm over her sister in an endearing embrace. The smaller baby’s heart rate stabilized and her temperature rose to normal.

Let us not forget to embrace those whom we love.
